Since 1988, Rick Mathis has been a fixture in the Port Angeles Downtown restaurant world. First with Harbor Deli (which became Harbor Cafe); then a move to a bigger location created Rick's Place. In 2008 with a move to a still larger location located on the waterfront, he created Smuggler's Landing Restaurant and Lounge.
Smugglers Landing is a casual family style restaurant with an emphasis on fresh seafood with a northwest flair, featuring locally crafted beers and wines of the Olympic Peninsula. Rick focuses on creating familiar dishes using top-quality ingredients and generous portions. Breakfasts range from omelets to homemade cinnamon rolls; the most popular lunch and dinner choices are fish & chips, burgers and homemade clam chowder.
Smuggler's Landing has a relaxed, casual, family-friendly atmosphere with seven big-screen TVs featuring sports upstairs and downstairs. And you can even hear the game!
